Last month, the University of Arizona's Trellis Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) program was announced the winner of this year's Salesforce Higher Ed Summit Award for "Excellence in Student Success". The university was nominated in February as one of three finalists in the country. Voting was open to the public and met with strong community support. The awards ceremony took place at the 2020 Virtual Higher Ed Summit.

Since the program officially kicked off in January of 2019, many eyes have been on Trellis to see what an enterprise CRM strategy could look like and how it could be implemented at scale across campus. Working directly with the students, staff, and faculty using the system, Trellis created a suite of applications that help to streamline and personalize interactions between constituents. In its first year, the speedy launch of Trellis Advise, Progress, and Social caught the attention of many including the Salesforce.org community.

A driving force behind the CRM initiative's success is the notion that "it takes a village". Thanks to the support of many strategic partners, leaders, and divisions across the university, Trellis was able to launch 3 applications in just 8 months. The program worked closely with the Office of Strategic Initiative, Arizona Marketing & Brand Management, the Advising Resource Center, Student Success & Retention Innovation team, and many other units to make this happen.

Message from the Executive Director

This award recognizes all of the University of Arizona’s shared dedication to help our students succeed, including the personal time, resources, and mental energy that each of you commit to everyday. To say that I am honored and humbled to have your support, be trusted with such an important endeavor, and lead an amazing team of professionals who have pulled off what some thought was impossible, is an understatement.

This is a significant milestone – a testament to what we can do when we collaborate and are motivated by our mission to serve our students. This is a moment for us all to feel great about the work we’ve done, and the great achievements ahead.

From my heart – deepest respect and gratitude!
