June marked the completion of a large-scale redesign to one of the University of Arizona's top visited academic planning websites: Degree Search. While the site has been around for a few years, the enhanced web experience now provides students with details on all majors at the University and a way to connect with each program more quickly. Options to filter by interest, view sample course plans, and even compare majors against other degree programs, give students plenty of ways to explore and plan their academic career.

"Navigating the University can be a challenge, but Degree Search helps take away from some of that anxiety. It is important for students to feel in control of their futures and by providing them with detailed plans of what the next four years of their lives will look like, it gives them the power they need to make the right choices," said Product Owner and Graduate Assistant Rachel Heusser. "Providing a modern and personalized user experience where students can start to develop their true Wildcat identify was also top of mind. Degree Search is one of the first webpages students find when visiting Arizona's main website, so we made sure the site was easy to use, but rich in content.”

Since Degree Search's redesign, there has been a significant increase in user activity and reach. The site gets an average of 53,000 page views per month, with an approximate 50% increase in unique page views compared to the old website last year.

Degree Search and the UAccess Student Center's recent updates are both part of a university-wide, multi-partner initiative to improve students' digital experiences. Degree Search was a joint effort with Enrollment Marketing & Communications, Campus Web Services, Marketing & Brand Management, the UAccess Student team, and other units on campus.
