Trellis Paid Events Transition

The University of Arizona will not renew its enterprise contract with Eventbrite for paid events after it expires on September 2026.

To ensure a smooth transition, we encourage all users to begin using Trellis Events—the university’s centrally funded platform for hosting, managing, and promoting both free and paid events. Trellis Events offers a secure, scalable, and cost-effective solution for the campus community.

We’re offering Office Hours to help you with:

  • Getting access to Trellis Paid Events

Set up an Approved Payment Gateway

Trellis Events requires a Merchant ID (MID) before you can create a paid event. Our team is here to help you set one up through the Treasury Department. You can get started today with Authorize.net, Payconex, or Cybersource Merchant IDs. When you set up a Merchant ID, you will be able to choose what account the funds are auto-booked to.

You only need one payment gateway, you can choose Authorize.net, Payconex, or Cybersource Merchant IDs (see Appendix A1 for cost). If your department already has one of these Merchant ID accounts, then you may utilize the one you have. Please note that for Authorize.net accounts, the Trellis Event Manager will need to be added as a full permission user in Authorize.net to connect the payment gateway in Trellis Events.

Complete the Merchant Request Form and Merchant Services Questionnaire

When the department is ready to set up a Merchant ID, they need to complete the Merchant Request Application and Merchant Services Questionnaire and send them to the merchant inbox at FNSV-Banking-And-Merchant-Services@arizona.edu. When completing the form, Merchant Name is what will show on bank statements, so it is advised that the name be something the payee will recognize. It must start with UA and be under 22 characters including spaces and the “UA”.  Please note that Appendix A1 details fees associated with the currently supported Merchant ID options.

Once FNSV receives the form, FNSV sends it to the appropriate fund accountants for approval of the desired auto-booking account numbers. While this is being approved, FNSV sends the application to the appropriate bank to complete the account set-up. Once the set-up is completed and the fund accountants approve the agreement, the auto-book is set up and the account is ready to use. The person listed on the Merchant ID Request will be provided with credentials to log into their Authorize.net, PayConex, or CyberSource account.
