Trellis Marketing Cloud is a mass emailing and communication tool that integrates with the rest of the University of Arizona's Trellis Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system. This platform launched in March and was quickly used to inform all students and staff about the closure of campus libraries due to COVID-19. Since the spring launch, the University has been using Marketing Cloud almost exclusively to reach all campus audiences for any institutional messaging. With Trellis Marketing Cloud, Arizona's branding, messaging, and voice can now be achieved across email communications.

To date, 9 campus departments have been onboarded (all to varying levels of usage):

  1. President’s Office
  2. Provost’s Office
  3. Secretary of the University
  4. Central Marketing and Communications
  5. Division of the Chief Information Officer
  6. Human Resources
  7. Research, Innovation, and Impact
  8. University of Arizona Health Sciences
  9. College of Law

The next groups planned for onboarding are:

  1. Student Success & Retention Innovation (SSRI)
  2. Study Abroad
  3. College of Applied Sciences and Technology (CAST)

The value for both users and the institution is found in Trellis's constituent data. Unlike systems in the past, the Trellis Marketing Cloud data is updated nightly enabling University professionals to reach the most up-to-date audiences. This update helps manage mailing lists as employees and students come and go from the University, change majors or departments, or change their employment status.
