As the 2019 calendar year comes to an end, many initiatives from the University of Arizona's Strategic Plan were discussed in the Arizona Board of Regents meeting that took place with President Robbins on November 21 and 22. Student and Academic Technologies, Enrollment Management, and Student Success and Retention Innovation were among the units highlighted in the discussion with each team's initiatives feeding into an improved student experience at the university.

"Students are digital natives. They expect a high-quality digital experience and they expect the university to understand who they are as people and individuals. We work with students a lot in the design of our solutions to make sure that we understand their perspective and that we're designing solutions that address their needs," stated Darcy Van Patten, Executive Director of Digital Transformation and Student and Academic Technologies.

During the presentation, Robbins also addressed Trellis as "one of the leading signature initiatives", adding that a CRM strategy was going to be a "transformative investment" not only for students, but the staff and faculty who support them.

Robbins stated, "The most important thing we can do right now is invest in our students. We're well underway in implementing this CRM system that helps, not only run the university more efficiently, but specifically helps students to navigate through the system."
