Transition from Wise Advising to Trellis Advise

In addition to general instructions for advisors, you'll need to follow some more steps to transition from WiseAdvising to Trellis Advise.

Update your personal notice for students

To cut over from WiseAdvising to Trellis Advise, start with updating your personal notice for students in WiseAdvising. To do this:

  1. Sign in to WiseAdvising System - https://wiseadvising.arizona.edu/advisor
  2. Select “administration” in the top left.
  3. Go to the "advisors" view/tab (if it doesn't show by default).
  4. Select the "edit" button to the right of your name.
  5. Scroll down to your profile and calendar settings (“your profile at [department]” header).
  6. Add a notice in the "your questions" text box:
  7. Scroll to bottom and select the “update” button

After doing the above and completely cutting over from WiseAdvising to Trellis, only create availabilities and appointments in Trellis.

Add a notice to students for entire department

Here are some things to consider if you want to do this:

  • You'd only want to do this if everyone in your department is transitioning from WiseAdvising to Trellis.
  • Only admin advisors in WiseAdvising can do this. 
    • Either contact your advising director to make this change or ask Ashwini Rajashekar from SBS Tech to make you an admin advisor in WiseAdvising.

To add a notice to students for your entire department:

  1. Sign in to WiseAdvising System - https://wiseadvising.arizona.edu/advisor
  2. Select the "Administration" tab.
  3. Select the "Questions" tab (https://wiseadvising.arizona.edu/advisor/types.php).
  4. Update “Requirements or Words to Students” with your message. 
    • This message will show up in the red on the top of the page where all the advisors' schedules are displayed to the students.
